The movie tells the story of Navin, a fool who grew up in Mississippi as the adopted son of a black family. On his eighteenth birthday, Navin feels that he wants to discover the rest of the world and head to St. Louis. In that region, Navin tries to cope with things, but there everyone exploits his naivety and his invention that he is doing will save him.
