Shattered Hopes: The True Story of the Amityville Murders - Part III: Fraud & Forensics

The third and final installment of the Shattered Hopes documentary trilogy that explores the infamous 'Amityville Horror' case. In 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. allegedly shot and killed his entire family as they slept in their Amityville, Long Island, New York home. A year later he was convicted of the crime. The first two installments of Shattered dealt with the ongoing drama within the family, the events that led to the murder, and the subsequent investigation and prosecution of the crime. Part III, the series finale, tackles the claims made by the Lutz family via 'The Amityville Horror' that the former DeFeo home was haunted, while also, and in extensive detail, conducts a forensic autopsy into the original DeFeo murders to determine whether Ronald DeFeo had accomplices in his crime.
