At one point, Kazimierz Pichovsky was captured at the Hungarian border and sent to Auschwitz. Kazimierz's role appears to be to transport the bodies from the gas chambers to the crematorium. One day, Kazimierz discovers that one of his friends in the camp is on the death list, as he vows not to stop at anything to prevent his death before things collapse.
